Advantages of Minimalism
There was a period in my life a while back characterized by doubt, uncertainty and stagnation. From the middle of that dark cloud came a vision of minimalism. A still, quiet, peaceful place. That vision materialized in what seemed like an instant. At the precise moment in which it became apparent that the vision of minimalism had manifest, a new vision appeared.
A large house on a hill, children and dogs playing on grass, polished rugged vehicles outside a well equipped garage, a beautiful woman with a gorgeous smile leaning against a granite topped island inside a kitchen with a huge stainless steel vent over a stove fit for a chef. While the house may be spacious and light, the most noticeable characteristic is relaxed orderliness. Minimalism is not about embracing satisfaction with, having, or being less than what our heart's desire. Increasing the speed with which we achieve our visions relates directly to minimizing the number of thoughts and things that block our way. Clutter and stagnation extinguish vision. Eliminating clutter blocking the space in which we live and think uncaps our potential.Simple Actions Complex Results
Think about transitions you've been through, or goals you've attained that seemed difficult, maybe even impossible before you began. Will you agree that difficult accomplishments break down into simple tasks?
I look at my evolving minimalist publishing system and realize that it's complex. It's designed for simplicity, but how easy is it to duplicate by someone unfamiliar with web publishing?- setup web server
- install fantastico
- install joomla
- install wordpress into sub directory
- find way to integrate joomla and wordpress
- use artisteer to build themes shared by wordpress and joomla
- discover posterous auto post tool
- resolve issue with posterous
Each of the steps listed above was a multi-step project, yet each project was accomplished one step at a time. The goal is to build a triad of minimalist lifestyle web sites that encourage a thoughtful approach to simple living. Simple isn't always simple, but one step at a time is the only way to complete even the most complex tasks.
Wordpress (self hosted) Posterous Tag Soup Solution
Posted via email from fastmoves at gmail dot com
Important FYI… Don’t use PHP 5.3! Use 5.2.9 instead for running proper Joomla! website. I chose 5.2.13 with Apache Easy Update. Now Joomla menus are back and Posterous Tag Soup is resolved. Avoid PHP 5.3 if you use Joomla and don’t want to recompile twice.
Resolving Posterous Wordpress Tag Soup Problem
sending tag soup to my self hosted Wordpress blog. This is a test.
Cross fingers. Pray.
Self Hosted Wordpress Posterous Problem
div class=’posterous_autopost’My Wordpress self hosted blog displays tag soup when I post by email br /from gmail. This is a test after enabling the atom publishing br /protocol. p style=”font-size: 10px;” a href=”http://posterous.com”Posted via email/a from a href=”http://fastmoves.posterous.com/self-hosted-wordpress-posterous-problem”fastmoves at gmail dot com/a /p /div

Seems simple enough. Write five base br /static pages then start blogging. But there’s a problem. When I use br /posterous the Wordpress post looks like tag soup. This is a test. br /Using gmail with text format should resolve the issue. p / To make it a dual test, I will add an image to understand how br /attachments are applied to my various posterous destinations. br //p p style=”font-size: 10px;” a href=”http://posterous.com”Posted via email/a from a href=”http://fastmoves.posterous.com/resolving-posterous-issue”fastmoves at gmail dot com/a /p /div
What Food Label Will I Wear Today?
div class=’posterous_autopost’If I wear the label minimalist, do I need to label myself by the food I eat? There#39;s the vegetarian label. A little further down the branch is the vegan label. Over there I see a red meat eater. Junk food junkies are everywhere. After reading The Asian Diet I#39;m simply looking for balance, chopsticks preferred, no steak knife required.p / Coffee as usual makes my morning special. As I sit here writing, green tea is vying for the favorite brew label. Not too long ago I started confessing to anyone suspected of having a sense of humor that I#39;m an aquaholic, unrecoverable.p / Ironically, food without labels may be some of the best foods. Does a banana have a list of ingredients? A bottle of ketchup does. Oh my, what#39;s this, high fructose corn syrup? It#39;s on so many labels.p / I wouldn#39;t mind labels on produce that tell me I#39;m eating genetically engineered food. Most of the industrial food supply chain is like me, label phobic, but for different reasons. p style=”font-size: 10px;” a href=”http://posterous.com”Posted via email/a from a href=”http://fastmoves.posterous.com/what-food-label-will-i-wear-today”fastmoves at gmail dot com/a /p /div
Web Zen Simplified Living Act of War
Welcome to The Revolution! Rebels renounce spending addiction and clutter. Useless stuff will no longer waste valuable time and energy. Owning is not wrong, the universe is unlimited. This is a control issue. Stuff controls the owner, or the owner controls the stuff.
For the hardcore, less is more. Smaller spaces can be sanctuaries. The battle of control over stuff gains time and saves money on useless things that sap time and energy. Time and energy is the fuel of life. A low maintenance lifestyle based on principles of simple living clears the body, mind and space of complication and bloat.
War is declared on clutter. Get a guru. Eat simple healthy food. Drink tap water. Simplify transportation. Unplug the TV. Free up space one closet, one shelf at a time. Move everything out of the space and go to war. If it’s useless, broken, a duplicate, ugly, stupid, or taking up way too much space, GET RID OF IT! Stuff is a killer. Fight back. Kill the stuff. Win the battle for space. Health and sanity are at stake. Clutter kills the body, mind and soul with stagnation. Declutter to put more life in living.
My New Favorite Bikram Blog
Is it possible to fall in love reading a blog? If such a thing is possible, this blog has me smitten:

I don’t drink, but I’d take this girl to the Met Bar and buy her a couple of the green things that work like magic… and don’t ask. I’m not telling.
Omigod, this blogger girl is so irreverent. I know she’d dig my dashboard jesus and the hoopty deux. I must find out where she does bikram. Help me, I’m babbling.
She’s so funny and she put a picture of her dog at the bottom of her bio page. Even her dog does yoga. How cool is that?
